2008  How  YOU can get involved in the race !!

Greetings from the Nedbank City of Cape Town Marathon!

 

Yes, it is that time of the year where we start planning towards yet another spectacular Cape Town Marathon.  The date set for the marathon (42.2km) and 10km this year is Sunday, 21 September.  2007 saw the inclusion Cape Town as part of the Athletics South Africa’s City Marathon Series, sponsored by Nedbank.  The live TV coverage impressed thousands of runners and supporters country wide and we would like to invite you to get involved in event for 2008. 

 

It is set to once again start in Adderley Street and finish in Darling Street in front City Hall opposite the Grand Parade after going out towards Langa and taking a turn through the Waterfront and Sea Point.  Our aim is to fill the 14 water tables for the day with the marathon starting at 06:30 and the cut-off time is 14:30.  This is an ideal branding opportunity – free to those that respond early – in other cities tables are allocated at a fee of R2000.  It includes live TV coverage with each station allowed at least 2 feather (telescoping) banners and a gazebo with the staff wearing branded T-shirts (but no handouts).  You are encouraged to see this as an opportunity to build on the relationships within your organisation while at the same time being visible to Cape Town and getting involved in the community.

 

The requirements are to have at least 15-20 people per station.  Closer to race day we will have a briefing where each table will be allocated and everyone receive their final instructions.  We will finalise the logistics to include the delivery schedule based on the entries and the time schedule which will be different for those in the earlier parts of the race than those in the latter part of the race.
